Final Submission

So this is my final submission, and I was finally able to get my magazine to look exactly how I wanted it. I was able to finally add page numbers for my first article which made the whole magazine fit together, and look like a real magazine. Some of my final edits I made were that I cleaned up some of the photos by editing them in photoshop and I also revised my article a tad just so that is was shorter and it go to the point faster. My table of contents page mainly stayed the same throughout this whole process because i really like the first draft I did; however, I did re format it in Adobe InDesign which helped with the spacing of the words. My cover page though was reformatted a little bit throughout this process because I really could not decide which cover photo to use for my magazine, but I eventually figured it out.

CCR Question #4 Draft

Question 4 How did you incorporate technology in the process?

How I explained in the last question a little bit i used the Canon 80D to capture the photos that was needed for this project. I also used two separate lenses during this shoot because I took both landscape and portrait photos. I also played with the different settings of my camera to ensue the quality of the photo came out just as I wanted it to. Before this photo shoot I did a ton of research regarding cameras and their specific function, and I was able to successfully navigate through my new camera because of this research. The programs I used to edit my photos was VSCO on my phone so I could add the correct filters to my photos. Then, I used Adobe Photoshop to finish my editing by fixing the exposure and bringing up some highlights to ultimately get the result I wanted. For formatting my magazine I used Adobe Indesign. This program allowed me to format my magazine how I wanted without using a template.

CCR Question #3 Draft

Question 3 How did your production skills develop throughout the process?

My production skills have significantly improved by completing this project. For example, I bought a brand new camera, Canon 80D, to capture the right photos. I also a few new lenses so that I could get the right amount of photos with the equipment I had. I used this equipment specifically because it had the right focal length and settings that I could change so I could control the photo I was taking. My school also offered all the Adobe Programs to me so I could use them to edit my magazine. I used Photoshop to edit my photos and the I used Indesign to format my magazine properly. I also learned the process of selecting the right person to model and scheduling wen to so the photoshoot. For my shoot I knew it had to be a sunny day because I am advertising the sunshine state through my magazine. I also realized some people could be hard to work with for certain projects and so I have to choose someone who was cooperative and happy to be apart of this process.
When I began this process I knew nothing about magazines and how they were produced, but by doing this project I have learned so much as to what I can achieve.

CCR Question #2 Draft

My product engages audiences by the color scheme and the use of conventions. These elements allow the viewer of my magazine to enter the world or travel and luxury. The magazine has a slight classy feel to it as well. The articles are very trendy and could entice anyone wanting to travel to the best places with the best food etc.

My magazine would be distributed as a real media text by advertising for it on social media and places that the magazine's target audience spends their most time on the web. This way there is a higher chance of them recognizing it and wanting to read more. Then it would be sold to different retailers that sell name brand magazines so ours could be on the shelf. This way we could make it stand. out among it s competition.

The marketing plan for this magazine to be advertised through social media because my target audience mainly uses these mass media platforms. For instance, like Instagram and Facebook are specifically the platforms that I will be using to advertise my magazine to the public. I will also be go to the travel Magazine Convention in April to advertise my magazine further. I have a instagram account already to advertise my magazine, but we just need to increase its following.

Through researching about distribution of magazines I created a distribution plan for my magazine. It includes using the site Amazon, and creating my own website that I can put on my Instagram for easy access to more information. This is because in my marketing plan I created and instagram account for advertising and so my target audience could view exactly what we were all about pictures wise. By having the website linked on our page that will draw our audience for more and then we can sell it to them on our personal website. We also will be creating a mailing list in which a computer projected which people would be most interested in our product so we sent them in the mail a free trial of out magazine which leads to a full subscription if the costumer sticks with the trial. We also have out our magazine on commerce websites to attract more attention in a more traditional way.

CCR Question #1 Draft

One of the conventions I used is the fonts on the different pages of my magazine. These font challenged conventions because they were really enticing to the eye of our readers and target audience. The fonts were explosive and ornate which portrayed the right tone of the magazine. They helped with the flow of everything.
Another convention that I used was the different camera shots I was able to capture. I not only shot my model, but the location we were in. I have close ups of my models face and also wide angled shots of our landscape in Sarasota. I had to capture the favorable angles of Siesta Village to encourage the audience to want to travel to Sarasota Florida.
Another convention I used was creating titles and words that were appealing to the eye. For example, lower prices and cheap allow the reader to think that what they are going to read will personally benefit their wallet which allows them to want. to read the full article. This convention is vital to the popularity of the overall magazine.

The social groups represented in my magazine where that of a wealthier class. For example, it was a travel magazine so the reader would have to have the money to travel and go places without going broke; therefore, my model wore a nice outfit that portrayed er social class. She was put together and had nice shoes which allowed the reader to understand the type of people that would or could be traveling to Sarasota Florida.
